POA’s Eye Valley Convention – Exhibition Center and Hotel in China
POA Architecture has released the design for the Eye Valley Convention and Exhibition Center and Hotel in China, led by architect Pan Chengshou. Located in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, a coastal city with established port infrastructure, the project is positioned within an area known for its manufacturing industry and historical significance as a key point on the ancient Maritime Silk Road. The site is an irregular polygonal plot adjacent to an elevated road to the south, which presents considerations for noise mitigation. The development aims to enhance the area’s service infrastructure by integrating convention, exhibition, and hospitality functions, contributing to the broader Eye Valley economy.

Infinity-like formation reflects Eye Valley’s growth potential
The design by POA Architecture Studio is based on the concept of ‘Eye Valley + Infinity,’ incorporating the mathematical symbol for infinity (∞) to reflect the area’s growth potential and long-term development. The project includes exhibition buildings with publicly accessible spaces and hotel structures designed to maximize surrounding landscape views. The combination of these elements establishes a functional and visually cohesive complex within the Eye Valley Town and the surrounding Science and Technology Corridor near Daluoshan.
Regional integration and cultural references are central to the architectural approach. The design incorporates curved forms inspired by the movement of seagulls and the flowing texture of silk, aligning with Wenzhou’s historical and cultural context. These elements are expressed in the structural composition of the convention center and hotel, representing the convergence of historical heritage and contemporary development.
